A refreshing, light, thirst quenching pale ale. Floral notes on the aroma with hints of vanilla and fruit in the mouth. The finish is notably bitter and long. With well- balanced characteristics of Slovenian, American and UK hops.
Initial sweet tones, giving way to a rich herbal flavour and a long robust bitter finish.
A Late Summer Surprise!
Using a well loved tradition to celebrate the local harvest this beer is created using the bittering hops of Uley Bitter and the aroma hop is determined by the current harvest from the hop farm- ensuring a unique beer every year.
Wet Hopped: Using Fresh Green Hereford Hops, harvested from the bine the previous day.
Originally a one-off brew in 1996 to celebrate 25 years of the Campaign for Real Ale. Affectionately known locally as "Mel's Revenge" (after the then Head Brewer) on account of the fact that it went down easily but had "somewhat of a kick"!!! Bramling Cross is used to create a mellow beer with the long-lingering fruity characteristics synonymous with Uley Ales.
